Accounts Assistant

We currently have a requirement for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our Smurfit Kappa – CRP site in Corby for a fixed 12 month period. The role will form part of a small Finance Team reporting to the Financial Controller, and will have a shared responsibility for areas such as payroll data processing, checking and processing expenses, journal preparation and posting, accounting reconciliations, cash postings and debt collection.

Working hours are 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 09:00 – 16:45 on Fridays.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has willingness to learn, is detail oriented and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of the team, build good working relationships with customer AP teams and keep CRP management team up to date with debtor reporting and reviews. Good communication and problem solving skills are essential and experience of SAP, Concur, Payroll is desirable.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Payroll data checking and processing, ensuring adherence to Company handbook;

  • Maintenance of Employee records;

  • Checking and processing Employees Expenses;

  • Journal Preparation and Posting – Employee costs accruals and prepayments;

  • Assist with Balance sheet reconciliations;

  • Cash Postings in SAP, Abaca and NAV;

  • Debt collection and reporting and reviewing with CRP Managers;

  • Any ad-hoc reports and reconciliations;

  • To work in accordance with all company certifications;

  • Actively engage and participate in all elements of Health and Safety requirements, whilst utilising the Health and Safety systems available.
