Weekend Maintenance Supervisor (Day Shift)
To support the Engineering Manager and work alongside the Weekend Night Shift Maintenance Lead to run the sites maintenance function during the weekend in line with the agreed engineering strategy. Act as the first line of support for the Engineering Team with technical issues, providing technical leadership and supporting skills development/knowledge within team. To manage works order workflow, set priorities, maintain the PM system, and develop/ improve predictive/preventative/and quality controls.
Key job requirements
Main Duties
- Safety auditing and role modelling safety behaviors amongst team.
- Support the development of the implementation of delegated aspects of the engineering strategy, including projects where appropriate.
- Support the weekend running of the Engineering Department including ensuring compliance with operations standards and the delivery of reliability targets.
- Undertake delegated aspects of people management including supporting the Engineering Manager with appraisals, training, and development plans, managing performance and employee communications.
- Ensure management of contractors whilst on site in line with site health and safety processes.
- Work in collaboration with the weekend engineering team to agree prioritization of works.
- Issue of work orders for – PM/CM/PPM
- Update Standard Operations procedures as necessary.
- Undertake other duties within capabilities as directed by Engineering Manager.
- This is a Hands-On role. Expect work mix of 60/40 practical to supervisory activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a high degree of automation and batch production.
- Technical knowledge of Drives, Instrumentation and Control, PLC's
- Experience of people management – people focused leadership style.
- Good organizational skills with an ability to manage own and others workload and priorities, including working under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written including one to one and group meetings.
- Ability to problem solve through to root cause.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Experience of driving and managing change.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers and other external contacts.
- Flexibility and adaptable to change including a high degree of resilience.
Qualifications (essential and desirable)
- Multi-skilled engineer with appropriate professional/technical qualifications (essential) Ideally HNC's
- Ideally electrically biased (desirable)
- IOSH Trained (desirable)
- ILM level 3 (desirable)
- SAP PM (desirable and willing to work towards with training)
- BOAS Qualified (Desirable)
