Smurfit Kappa Corrugated Management Graduate Training Scheme

With around 45,000 employees across 35 countries and an EBITDA of €1,510 million in 2020, Smurfit Kappa Group is one of the leading producers of paper based packaging in the world, with longevity, sustainability and innovation at its heart.

Smurfit Kappa Corrugated UK is a division of the Smurfit Kappa Group, and is a major player in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly evolving industry.  As a business it is both creative and innovative, providing eye catching retail-ready packaging solutions to support the sales and marketing campaigns of much of the UK manufacturing industry, as well as a vast range of protective transit packaging.  Add to that the fact that paper based packaging is the ultimate sustainable resource (in the UK 80% of all corrugated cardboard is recycled, and the average cardboard box contains 75% recycled fibres) and this has to be an organisation worth considering.

This year there are places for recent graduates of any degree discipline on the Graduate Management Training Scheme in the UK.   The purpose of this scheme is to enable graduates to develop the knowledge and experience needed to really understand both the business, and that of its customers (some of the world’s leading manufacturers) as quickly as possible.  In so doing, they will develop a clear view on the areas of a manufacturing business in which they would like to develop their career, be that Commercial such as Sales or Marketing, Operational such as Manufacturing or Supply Chain, or a different function altogether.  The Company programme of 4 different placements, each of approximately 6 months, on different UK sites and in different areas of the business means that you will need to be both mobile and adaptable to make the most of this exciting opportunity.

It is important to the business that its graduates reach their full potential both personally and professionally, while making a real contribution to the bottom line, so they are provided with the perfect learning environment of innovation, motivation and support.  They will receive on and off the job training, mentoring and coaching, in a real life, challenging work setting.  The kind of people who will be suited to these positions will be confident and ambitious, with a natural flair for building relationships at all levels of business and outstanding communication skills.  They will be self-motivated, tenacious and resilient, and comfortable working both alone and as part of a team.  Mobility throughout the UK and a full driving licence are essential.

To the successful candidate who fits the bill they are offering: a salary of £27,400, 25 days holiday + public holidays, accommodation allowance, life assurance, contributory pension scheme.
